Inspired by the Atlantic Cup, the Pacific Cup brings the two sides of the Pacific together through a game we all love — one chukker at a time.
University polo players from the United States, the United Kingdom, Argentina and Australia gather at the Fairy Mountain of Wulong, China — about a three-hour drive from Chongqing — for polo, camaraderie and exploration.
Hosted by the 1003 Polo Club, the Cup is as much about the friendships made off the field as the chukkers played on it: a curated programme of matches, charity events, local excursions and shared adventures across China.

The Format
Polo for All
Across the programme, every player takes the field for the same share of polo — whatever their handicap. Most games are played in mixed teams, so competitors quickly become friends.
Mixed teams
Most matches are played in mixed teams to keep things balanced and friendly, building camaraderie across borders.
Clinics & stick-and-ball
Optional clinics and stick-and-ball sessions on grass keep every rider sharp between matches.
The next generation
Players ride alongside young Chinese players from the 1003 Heritage Polo Program — passing the game on.
The tournament
The gathering builds to a horse parade, a round-robin for the Pacific Cup title, an award ceremony and a charity auction.

Day 1
Arrival & welcome
Transfer from Chongqing to the 1003 Polo Club, check in, an optional sunset stick-and-ball, and a casual welcome dinner with players and guests.

First chukkers
A short clinic on grass, the first polo game, then a welcome barbecue and an introduction to the club.

Day 3
Explore Wulong
Hiking and outdoor adventures — rafting, cave exploration, kayaking — alongside local culture: Batik workshops, the Miao heritage area and traditional tea-picking.

Match play
An optional stick-and-ball, another game, and a relaxed farm evening featuring local cuisine.

Heritage programme
A scrimmage with students of the 1003 Heritage Program, an exhibition game, and an evening with young players and the wider polo community in China.

The Venue
Fairy Mountain, Wulong
The Cup is hosted at the 1003 Polo Club on the Fairy Mountain of Wulong — a region known as the “World Karst Ecological Museum” and dubbed China's natural oxygen bar.
Deep hills, river valleys and dramatic gorges surround the field: the Furong Cave, the largest natural bridge cluster in Asia, the Wujiang River gallery — and the lights of Chongqing just three hours away.
Founding Host
The 1003 Polo Club
The 1003 Polo Club is devoted to the revival of polo in China as a sport, an industry and a culture — sharing the game with the world through international tournaments, partnerships and philanthropy.
The group is home to the world's first women's polo club, runs four polo tournaments — including the Pacific Cup — and founded the China Polo Heritage Program to teach the next generation of Chinese players.
